The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Department (RAKTDA) was established in May 2011 by the Government of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to develop the emirate's tourism infrastructure, position it and promote it as a world-class destination for leisure and business by creating investment projects within the framework of the strategy of sustainable development and improving the standard of living of emirati residents, as well as increasing the tourist flow to the emirate.
